Purpose:
Purpose:
Firstly, it provides opportunities for recent graduates in the Natural Sciences without any of the specialisations as majors, but who have demonstrated potential for graduate studies by completing their first Degree with at least a C aggregate, to specialise in any of the above fields and by doing so, improve their chances of employment.
Purpose:
Purpose:
1. To prepare the learner to work in research and development laboratories.
The main purpose of the qualification will be: - To provide the qualifiers with advanced knowledge in theoretical and experimental physics.
To produce skilled graduates in the fields of pure and applied physics, who would be able to demonstrate the ability to teach at a high school and college level, perform theoretical and experimental work, solve practical problems related to industries and perform basic industrial and academic research.
This qualification will produce much-needed professionals to enter or to specialise in the fields of physics.
This qualification provide learners with specialised knowledge in Physics through study in depth; to equip them with knowledge of research methodology, and the ability to solve problems and develop theory through independent work and critical thinking, by the use of appropriate theory, methods and technique from different parts of Physics. These learners should be good communicators in spoken and written English, to both expert and non-expert audiences.
- The (first) purpose of the qualification is to provide qualifiers with postgraduate level specialised knowledge, specific skills and applied competence in the field of physical natural sciences (Chemistry, Physics and Earth Sciences) that provide opportunities for continued personal intellectual growth, gainful economic activity in the private, public and academic spheres and rewarding contributions to society.
Purpose:
The purpose of this qualification is to equip learners with the knowledge and competencies to understand and apply advanced methods and techniques in the field of Physics. This qualification is for learners who want to enter the Physics profession. In addition, for candidates who intend pursuing higher research Degrees, the deeper level knowledge in the qualification is essential for future research. The qualification has been active for many years; current Departmental and Institutional Resources are adequate for the continued existence of the qualification.

Purpose:
The purpose of the Bachelor of Science Honours in Physiology is to introduce learners to the niche research areas of physiologists in the Department and preparing learners for future careers in biomedical research. Learners will learn research-oriented Physiology techniques, basic scientific literature evaluation skill through critical analysis of published articles that they present during journal club sessions, and scientific writing skills (via proposal and dissertation writing). Learners will learn how to plan, conduct, assess and report hypothesis-driven research. Because learners are at the formative years of research, learners are assigned supervisors based on the learner's interest and supervisor expertise. The supervisor assists the learner in selecting a research topic and, through intensive guidance (one-to-one setting as well as a classroom teaching and group discussions), learners will understand planning, proposal writing, implementation of the study protocol and writing of the research paper. After completion of the qualification, each learner will acquire the following skills: - Application of Physiology theoretical knowledge towards solving life problems (as relevant to the research problem).

Purpose:
The graduate will qualify to be registered, independent professional who: - Applies evidence-based physical and holistic approaches that will include core skills as Therapeutic Exercise, Manual Therapy, Electrotherapy to prevent and rehabilitate physical disablement, and promote and maintain physical and psychosocial well-being in multi-disciplinary settings.
The qualification aims to produce learners that have a broad background and have specialist knowledge and skills in the main discipline of Plant Pathology.
Purpose:
To produce a Learner who:
