The primary purpose of this qualification is to provide qualifying learners with applied competence in the mastering, analysing, interpretation and application of industrial psychological principles and methods as an intellectual knowledge base for a career in industrial psychology/human resource management. The qualification will prepare learners to reflect on their own industrial psychological applications and to assess the effect thereof in the holistic context of Industrial Psychology and Human Resource Management within their everyday lives. Lastly it will prepare them for further study in Industrial Psychology and Human Resource Management, and as such provide them with the option of registering as a counsellor (after having obtained B Psych status on honours level) and as an industrial psychologist (after having obtained D Psych status on doctoral level).

The first purpose of the qualification is to provide qualifiers with graduate-level knowledge, specific skills and applied competence in a number of fields of Culture and Arts, Communication Studies and Language, Human and Social Studies and Services that provide opportunities for continued personal intellectual growth, gainful economic activity and rewarding contributions to society.

This qualification includes the various specialisations in Information Science. Please refer to "Notes" for details on the specialisations.

The purpose of this qualification is to provide learners with foundational, reflexive and practical competence in Information Science with a view to the delivery of comprehensive library and information services to society. The Bachelor of Information Science Honours Degree is a Postgraduate specialisation qualification in the field of Information Science, including its subfields of library studies, and Information and Knowledge Management.
