The diploma in Fine Art is a theoretical/practical, competitive and community oriented course leading to job opportunities such as being an art teacher/educator/facilitator, self employed or working with formal and non formal structures such as NGOs, community organizations towards the promotion of art exhibitions/festivals. These projects will be done in collaboration with NAHESCS/ music/ Creative Writing/ Drama/ Fort Hare/ Alice

The Degree was originally intended to equip learners with the skills necessary to establish themselves as practising artists or commercial photographers. However today most students who wish to follow the former route will subsequently undertake Postgraduate study in order to deepen their understanding; similarly others use the qualification as the basis for a Master's of Arts (MA) by thesis in Art History. It is also an increasingly common preparation for related careers in fields such in community arts, arts administration, curation and other art delivery careers as well as areas such as illustration, three dimensional (3D) computer modelling and web-site design.

This qualification is designed to equip learners with the comprehensive knowledge and skills required for successful professional practice as visual artists and for employment opportunities within the field of visual arts. It aims to cultivate practical and theoretical competencies, enabling learners to effectively articulate concepts visually, verbally, tactilely, and in written form. The qualification emphasises applying relevant skills, knowledge, and attitudes within the learners' chosen areas of specialisation. Furthermore, it seeks to foster an awareness of the importance of sensitivity and reflection regarding diversity, inclusivity, cultural values, human rights, gender, development, and change. The qualification also promotes an understanding of the necessity for lifelong learning, empowering learners to function more effectively in the professional sphere and as responsible citizens who contribute to cultural, social, environmental, and economic development in South Africa. Additionally, it develops learners' capacity to make informed judgments on critical ethical matters and enhances their study skills to facilitate access to further learning opportunities. Ultimately, this qualification contributes to the national pool of trained practitioners in the areas of visual arts practice and interpretation.

The purpose of the Diploma in Foodservice Management and Nutrition is to equip learners with level-appropriate managerial skills and knowledge of nutrition relevant to the foodservice industry. The qualification emphasises the connection between nutrition, health, and customer well-being in foodservice operations, focusing on sustainability in food production systems and healthy communities. The diploma has a primarily vocational orientation, focusing on preparing learners for the workplace by equipping them with the relevant and necessary professional knowledge and skills of the nutrition and foodservice industries. The responsibility of the food service sector is to improve the nutritional quality of meals consumed by customers; thus, the health of consumers has become a duty and challenge for the food service sector.

The purpose of this qualification is to provide the qualifying learner with the necessary qualifications and experience required for employment in the Forestry industry at intermediate and higher levels of management.
