Master of Library Science, Level 9 or equivalent.

Exit level outcomes

  1. Develop and present a research proposal independently.
  2. Read and examine professional and academic texts with insight.
  3. Understand and apply the methodological frameworks that are most appropriate to doing Library and Information Studies (LIS).
  4. Interpret, analyse and contextualise research findings.
  5. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of selected modules as well as the ability to do research on a topic within that subject.

  • Research proposal is developed and presented independently.
  • Professional and academic texts are read and examined independently.
  • The most appropriate methodological frameworks are understood and applied in completing Library and Information Studies (LIS). research.
  • Understanding is demonstrated and the theoretical foundations of various sub-disciplines of LIS are applied.
  • Research findings are interpreted, analysed and contextualised.

This programme will be assessed in the form of a Doctoral dissertation only.
