Doctor of Homeopathy

The qualifying learner can conduct independent research under minimal guidance in a field related to Homoeopathy and contribute to new knowledge and production in that field. The research problem, its justification, process and outcomes being reported in a dissertation and demonstrated in a body of work (highly sophisticated and innovative) and other means which comply with the generally accepted norms for research at this level.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

The institution conducts RPL in terms of the policy and guidelines of the institution to recognise other forms of formal, informal and non-formal learning and experience.

In cases where learners do not comply with the formal admission requirements, the institution applies its RPL policy.

Entry Requirements

• Cognate Master, NQF Level 9.

• Thesis, 360 Credits.

1. Adress research and development needs within the Homoeopathic field.
2. Apply research methods and techniques appropriately and correctly.
3. Identify and solve problems in which responses display that responsible decisions, using critical and creative thinking, have been made.
4. Working effectively with others as a member of a team, group, organisation or community.
5. Organise and manage oneself and one's activities responsibly and effectively.
6. Collect, analyse, organise and critically evaluate information.
7. Communicate effectively using visual, mathematical and language skills in the modes of oral and written persuasion.
8. Use science and technology effectively and critically, showing responsibility towards the environment and health of others.

• The research problem is clearly identified, defined and detailed in the research proposal and demonstrated in the final body of innovative work and/or dissertation (explication).

• The use of literature surveys/experimentation/correlation/casual analysis is justified fully and correctly in oral presentation and the written explication.

• The listed and cited literature of the literature survey and the exposition of the research reflect familiarity with relevant and recent trends in the field of Homoeopathy.
