Entry requirements and RPL
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Access may be gained to the qualification through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
The institution conducts RPL in terms of the policy and guidelines of the institution to recognise other forms of formal, informal and non-formal learning and experience. In cases where learners do not comply with the formal admission requirements, the institution applies its RPL policy.

- A capacity to assess educational research, and provide good reasons for such assessments.
- An ability to advise others in respect of educational research by producing:
- A thesis, which systematically investigates a substantial research problem and satisfies international standards of research and scholarship in the relevant field.
Integrated Assessment
A substantial and well-ordered thesis which satisfies current international standards in the principal area of inquiry, and in which (a) the central argument and its relations with current and earlier streams of thinking are clearly set out, (b) the research strategy is fully specified, and justified, (c) the original research findings are appropriately presented and evaluated, and (d) the implications for knowledge in and thinking about the broader area of inquiry are formally assessed.
