Purpose and Rational of the Qualification
The purpose of this qualification is to provide graduates with postgraduate marketing and supply knowledge, specific skills and applied competence that provide opportunities for continued personal intellectual growth, gainful economic activity and valuable contributions to society. This will in turn provide South Africa (and other countries) with persons who have adequate knowledge and skills in the fields of marketing and supply, to ensure that the leadership base of innovative and knowledge-based economic and marketing activity is widened.

Applicants should have completed an undergraduate Bachelors degree or its equivalent and should have relevant work experience or running of business.

A minimum of 128 credits are to be completed for this one year qualification.
Exit level outcomes
Successful students will be able to
- Demonstrate an understanding of the theoretical underpinnings of marketing and supply.
- Demonstrate an understanding and proficiency in relevant theory, institutional forms, legislation and its application.
- Communicate effectively as a professional in marketing supply, with specialists in the field and with general management.

Assessment criteria are demonstrated fulfilment of the desired outcomes (above) met through successful completion of all the components of the qualification and assessed through a range of methods including tests, assignments, seminars and formal examinations, in written and oral form. Assessment may include a short supervised project or case study.
Integrated Assessment
The written tests, examinations and reports will serve to integrate and draw together all the material covered in all the components of the qualification.
