Purpose and rationale

Purpose

  • The purpose of the qualification is to provide a basic programme of integrated teaching and learning relevant to the needs of a certain category of Paralegal practitioners, viz those that assist in the mediation processes envisaged by the Labour laws.
  • To provide South Africa with significant numbers of graduates in Labour Law in order to ensure that the local leadership base of innovative and knowledge-based economic and scholarly activity is widened.

Rationale

The qualification will provide qualifiers with specific skills and applied competence in Labour Law that provide opportunities for continued personal intellectual growth, gainful economic activity and rewarding contributions to society.

Entry Requirements

  • Advanced Diploma in Labour Law, Level 7.
  • Bachelor's Degree, Level 7 in an appropriate learning discipline.
  • Bachelor Honours Degree in Labour Law, Level 8.
  • An Advanced Diploma or Bachelor's Degree, Level 7 in an appropriate learning discipline.
