Postgraduate Diploma in Health Services Management

Purpose

Apply educational knowledge, skills, principles and methods as professional medical practitioners and health service managers and to manage a medical practice effectively and efficiently. Qualifiers will demonstrate knowledge, skills and applied competence in the field of study that provide opportunities for continued personal growth, gainful economic activity and rewarding contributions to society.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

The institution conducts RPL in terms of the policy and guidelines of the institution to recognise other forms of formal, informal and non-formal learning and experience. In cases where learners do not comply with the formal admission requirements, the institution applies its RPL policy.

Entry Requirements

The minimum entry requirement for this qualification is

• Bachelor qualification in an appropriate field, NQF Level 7.

Or

• Advanced Diploma qualification in a related field, NQF Level 7.

1. Demonstrate ability/skill to achieve the major Skills/Applied Competency of the qualification.
2. Demonstrate understanding of the embedded knowledge that underpins the end result/outcome.
3. Integrate or connect our performances and reflect on, evaluate and adopt the above competencies.
4. Pursue a profession as medical practitioners with special emphasis on the effective management and administration of health care and health services, and practice management.

�Demonstrate administration/management theory and behavioural sciences.

�Demonstrate proficiency in management and administration skills as these pertain to health care, health professions, and practice management.

Integrated Assessment

Competence is achieved, through continuous assessment by demonstrating the ability to achieve the outcomes of the Qualification.
