Purpose

Learners obtaining this qualification will be able to contribute to the improvement and development of the functions and operations of some specialised area(s) of the Tourism and Hospitality industry, as well as to demonstrate a high-level of overall knowledge in such specialised area(s), ranging from fundamental concepts to advanced theoretical or applied knowledge.

Rationale

Learners obtaining this qualification will be able to demonstrate a high level of overall knowledge in the Hospitality and Tourism field ranging from fundamental concepts to advanced theoretical or applied knowledge.

Entry requirements and RPL

A panel will access the applicant's portfolio according to institution policy. The portfolio will entail the successful completion of four year qualification or equivalent credits and evidence of substantial experience and professional development in Hospitality.

The minimum entry requirement for this qualification is

  • Postgraduate Diploma, NQF Level 8 (or equivalent qualification in the related discipline).
