Purpose and rationale
The purpose of this qualification is to enable candidates to acquire adequate research skills in Development Studies. This requires attention to the following three important aspects:
- A broadening and deepening of a student`s knowledge in the Development Studies disciplines as specified. This is achieved through course work leading to detailed literature surveys.
- The development of basic research skills.
- The writing of a mini-thesis on the basis of an accepted research proposal.

- Delimitation, literature searches, logical analysis, balanced interpretation are conducted whilst demonstrating consistent use of a system of references.

The intended purpose of this Master of Accountancy is to provide the learners with a professional, vocational, and sound understanding of the general theoretical principles and their applications in the field of research accountancy.
