Purpose and rationale
The qualification aims
- To provide qualifiers with graduate level knowledge, specific skills and applied competence in speaking their home language.
- To produce South African citizens who can serve the nation in the knowledge of the Tshivenda Language as teachers, interpreters, authors, editors, announcers, language practitioners etc.
- To provide South Africa with a group of school teachers who will have a clear continuously growing understanding of the method and progress of language planning and language policies.
Entry requirements and RPL
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
The institution conducts RPL in terms of the policy and guidelines of the institution to recognise other forms of formal, informal and non-formal learning and experience. In cases where learners do not comply with the formal admission requirements, the institution applies its RPL policy.
Entry Requirements
The minimum entry requirement for this qualification is
- Bachelor of Arts Honours in Tshivenda, NQF Level 8.

Exit level outcomes
- Understand how speech sounds are articulated in order to eliminate pronunciation defects (problems), transcribe texts into phonetic orthography.
- Understand different word structures, lexicography, terminology, building capacity, sentence formation analysis of semantic and socio-linguistic problems.
- Compare their home language in relation to linguistic features of other languages and related African language in Africa.
- Acquire knowledge, understanding, appreciate Tshivenda literary works, book reviews, and worldviews of different literary writers.
Associated assessment criteria
The following associated assessment criteria apply across all Exit Level Outcomes
- Advanced study and research on the delimitation of the field of linguistics, literature and folklore.
- Independent study and capacity for further research on the field of study of Tshivenda at an advanced level.
- Possession of great depth of knowledge in a complex and specialised area and / or across specialised or applied areas in Tshivenda linguistics, literature and folklore.
- Capacity for dealing with complexity and making confident selections.
- Autonomous synthesising of information and creation of responses to problems that expand into redefining existing knowledge.
- Independent evaluation of, and accurate assessment of and reporting on both own and others work with justification, isolation, assessment, and resolution of problems of all qualification predictability in an autonomous manner, full professional and academic communication with other in the field of study, working with, within a group towards define outcomes assuming leadership, negotiation and conflict resolution, and effective motivation of others, capacity for actual, production of dissertation that places research within broader context of the field, is capable of withstanding international intellectual scrutiny, and contributes original knowledge to the field in question.

The intended purpose of this Master of Accountancy is to provide the learners with a professional, vocational, and sound understanding of the general theoretical principles and their applications in the field of research accountancy. The qualification will be treated according to the policies and procedures of the institution regarding master's dissertations, monitoring, and assessment of learners' progress in the qualification, provision for learners disputes regarding assessment results and Recognition of Prior Learning.
