Purpose and rationale
- The first purpose of the qualification is to provide learners with an advanced ability to conduct psychological research relevant to local communities.
- The second purpose of the requirement is to lay the basis for further training (including Professional training) in Psychology.
- The third purpose of the qualification is to provide the South African community in general and the Northern Province in specific with graduates who have advanced psychological and research expertise.
Entry requirements and RPL
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
The institution conducts RPL in terms of the policy and guidelines of the institution to recognise other forms of formal, informal and non-formal learning and experience. In cases where learners do not comply with the formal admission requirements, the institution applies its RPL policy.

The minimum entry requirement for this qualification is
- Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, NQF Level 8.

Associated assessment criteria
The following associated assessment criteria apply across all Exit Level Outcomes
- Conduct a research project, through all its stage (including planning, proposal writing, the writing of a Literature review, data collection, and data analysis), and publishing the outcome of the research in the form of a thesis, as well as a publishable journal article.
- Critically appraise different value systems.
- Internalise and will adhere to values that enhance human development and functioning on a personal, social, national and global level.

The intended purpose of this Master of Accountancy is to provide the learners with a professional, vocational, and sound understanding of the general theoretical principles and their applications in the field of research accountancy. The qualification will be treated according to the policies and procedures of the institution regarding master's dissertations, monitoring, and assessment of learners' progress in the qualification, provision for learners disputes regarding assessment results and Recognition of Prior Learning.
