Purpose and rationale
The purpose of this qualification is to enable learners to acquire adequate research skills in Philosophy within the Faculty of Arts. This requires attention to the following three important aspects:
- A broadening and deepening of a learner's knowledge in the Philosophy disciplines as specified. This is achieved through course work leading to detailed literature surveys.
- The development of basic research skills.
- The writing of a mini-thesis based on an accepted research proposal.

The intended purpose of this Master of Accountancy is to provide the learners with a professional, vocational, and sound understanding of the general theoretical principles and their applications in the field of research accountancy.
