The purpose of this qualification is to provide the qualifying learner with the necessary qualifications and experience required for employment in the Forestry industry at intermediate and higher levels of management. Entry requirements and RPL
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Access may be granted, through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), to learners who do not meet the minimum entry requirements.
Entry requirements
- A qualification at Level 5 in Forestry.
- National Senior Certificate, Level 4 granting access to Diploma studies.
- Senior Certificate, Level 4 with Matriculation exemption.
- National Certificate Vocation, Level 4 with a relevant specialisation, granting access to Diploma studies.

Exit level outcomes
- Become actively involved in the management of timber growing and related operations through a demonstrated ability and appropriate knowledge of the forest industry.
- Demonstrate appropriate basic technical and operational technical skills of the forest industry.
- Demonstrate appropriate basic industry-related computational, managerial, financial and operational knowledge and skills, as well as an appropriate technical knowledge and understanding of the tools and equipment used in the forest industry.
