Purpose and rationale
Purpose
The qualification is intended for individuals to work as operational and tactical managers in enterprises. The qualifying learner will be competent in applying selected business principles and techniques in supporting and implementing strategic, policies, and procedures. The qualification is career-oriented in a way that focuses on the student's learning experiences and creates opportunities for development. Learners doing the qualification will be able to grow into positions such as Consultants and Managers.
Rationale
The qualification is designed for qualified learners to be employed by both the private and public sector, including the research organisation, non-profit organisations, and educations institutions. The qualification is intended for individuals to work as operational and tactical managers in enterprises. The qualifying learner will be competent in applying selected business principles and techniques in supporting and implementing strategic, policies, and procedures. Learners doing the qualifications will be able to grow into positions such as consultants and managers. The learners are mainly focused on general management, specifically on business and commerce.
The learner with this qualification will be able to
- Identify and solve problems and make responsible and ethical decisions within own limit of operation.
- Work effectively with others as a member of a team, group, and organisation.
- Collect, organise and critically evaluate information.
- Communicate effectively using visual, mathematical and language skills in the mode of oral and / or written presentations.
- Demonstrate the understand of the world as a set of related systems and be culturally and aesthetically sensitive to a range of social contexts in managing and interacting with a diverse set of people in the workplace.
Entry requirements and RPL
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
The institution conducts Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) in terms of the policy and guidelines of the institution to recognise other forms of formal, informal and non-formal learning and experience. In cases where learners do not comply with the formal admission requirements, the institution applies its RPL policy.

Associated assessment criteria
The following associated assessment criteria apply across all Exit Level Outcomes.
- An appropriate strategic stock and logistics plan, which will demonstrate knowledge of the logistics function is developed for a business.
- Stock and logistics of retail business including useful stock and logistic objectives, policies, strategies, action plans and a logistics budget are adequately planned for a year.
- An active stock control system is designed.
- A supplier specification policy is compiled to ensure the right supply of prescribed products at the required conditions.
- The best possible way of transporting products from the supplier to the business is determined.
Integrated Assessment
Assessment across the qualification forms an integral part of the teaching and learning process. In achieving the learning outcomes, learners are required to comply with the minimum assessments set for the level of the qualification, as per the Institution's Assessment Policy. Assessments vary depending on the module and the outcomes of the module; however, all modules are assessed through formative and summative. The assessment of theoretical modules is usually in the form of assignments, practical's and written tests or examinations.
