The graduate must be able to
- Assimilate, critically evaluate and correctly report on the molecular biology literature
- Apply a variety of specialised recombinant DNA techniques in the various biological disciplines
- Complete a molecular biology-based research project of a limited scope within an existing research programme in one of the Departments in the School of Biological Sciences
- Demonstrate conceptual thinking skills and an integrated perspective of various topics in genetics.
