Integrated Assessment
Each module is assessed either using the continuously assessed coursework method or a combination of continuously assessed coursework and some form of examination. In brief, the assessments involve, in most instances, continuously assessed course work using combinations of unseen examinations, marked reports, skills tests, and presentations. The assessment method used in each case/module is chosen in the light of the expected outcomes. Feedback is given immediately after the completion of evaluation of the assessments. Supplementary and/or reassessments as the case may be, are given to qualifying candidates.
Formative Assessments include tutorials, assignments, and presentations, which enable immediate or relative immediate feedback and the opportunity for students to improve their performance, but which also contribute to the module mark. Summative assessments include a combination of 'continuous assessment' assessments and unseen examinations. A further such assessment being the integrative project reports in the form of the development of a business plan for a proposed business and solo presentations.

International comparability
- United Kingdom: New Castle University, Construction Management (Building) Honours. If learners are interested in becoming a construction manager, ensuring that projects are completed on time, to budget and to a specified quality, this qualification is ideal. It combines an emphasis on management with a grounding in the technical aspects of construction. In the UK's qualification there is greater focus on the technical aspects of construction as the qualification includes a year placement industry. However, there is less Project Management theory than this qualification and also law subjects more aligned to environment, not people.
- Australia: Deacon University, Bachelor of Construction Management (Building) Honours.
Learners will study a range of modules in construction and building to become highly desirable employees in these fields. They learn how to lead and coordinate physical infrastructure projects, working on site, but playing an indirect role in hands-on building.
The following are the outcomes of the qualification
- Knowledge of the construction industry, the environment and social processes that inform and contribute to construction practice, to optimise decision-making and evaluation of construction practices and processes.
- Skills to communicate effectively with stakeholders and members of construction teams to facilitate project delivery.
- Demonstrated leadership potential as appropriate, to manage construction and construction related projects and/or processes.
- Skills to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in interdisciplinary and multi professional environments and teams to facilitate clients centred construction project outcomes.
- Performed the range of industry skills required by professional bodies, appropriate to their employer and context.
- Conducted and employed research skills appropriate to the building and construction industry.
- Demonstrated professional and personal behaviour consistent with a commitment to lifelong learning, accountability in practice and the promotion and development of construction industry professions.
- Demonstrated the capacity for lateral and creative thinking to solve construction engineering problems.
- Demonstrated understanding and function in the context of social, cultural, global, environmental, ethical and business opportunities in the construction industry, and an understanding of the need for and principles of sustainable development.
- United States of America, George Brown College, Bachelor of Science in Construction Science and Management. The USA qualification prepares learners for leadership roles in the construction industry. They will be able to work in multidisciplinary teams and develop leadership skills to manage construction projects and use appropriate team processes to collaborate, communicate, and negotiate solutions. The content aligns with major and minor modules of this qualification. Modules such as safety in building construction form a major component of Construction Management module. Construction capstone and lab is part of the practical component not in evidence for South African BSc (Honours) qualifications.
