Entry requirements and RPL
Benewens die formele vereistes vir toelating tot die universiteit (matrikulasievrystelling), geld ook die volgende spesifieke vereistes:
- UNISA Graad VII op praktiese vlak en UNISA Graad V op teoretiese vlak; of
- Musiek as matriekvlak (HG of SG) met minstens 60 % geslaag; of
- 'n Ander gelykwaardige standaard in musiek; en
- 'n Praktiese oudisie en teoretiese toelatingstoets.

Aan die einde van die studie is die graduandus in staat om binne sy/haar spesialiseringsveld basiese kennis en beginsels ten opsigte van musiekstudie en -beoefening toe te pas, en mondelings en skriftelik effektief daaroor te kan kommunikeer.

2.1 Kennis
2.2 Aan die einde van die studie is die graduandus in staat om basiese kennis, tegnieke en beginsels van musiek toe te pas, insluitend kennis van en insig in begrippe, strukture, prosedures, teoriee, beginsels, navorsingsmetodes, en die verwantskappe en interafhanklike verhoudings tussen die verskillende musikale dissiplines.

2.4 Die graduandus sal in staat wees om: krities en kreatief probleme op te los; as entrepreneur te kan optree; in ; groep te funksioneer en as leier kan optree (ook binne die gemeenskap); kennis selfstandig te kan verwerf, analiseer, integreer, evalueer en toepas, kennis wetenskaplik te kan kommunikeer; op beperkte skaal navorsing te kan doen.

2.6 Die studente sal vanuit 'n gefundeerde perspektief die medemens, die skepping en gesag kan respekteer; prinsipieel oor die rol en belangrikheid van musiek te kan dink, oor intergriteit, deursettingsvermoe en noukeuringheid beskik; bewus wees van die noodsaaklikheid om voortdurend sy/haar kennis ten opsigte van musiekstudie en -beoefening uit te brei.
Associated assessment criteria
Geintegreerde evaluering van die bereiking van hierdie uitkomste sal geskied by wyse van individuele en groepsopdragte, individuele en groepsgesprekke in klasverband, geskrewe klastoetse en middel- en eindeksamens oor teoretiese vakkennis, praktiese demonstrasies, voordragte en eksamens.

Articulation options
Met die suksesvolle voltooiing van die B.MUS.-program sal die graduandus direk toegang he tot die meestersgraad in die spesialisrigting (ook by ander tersiere inrigtings). Na voltooiing van die eerste twee jaar van die program, kan die student uittree met 'n diploma. Na voltooiing van die eerste drie jaar van die program, kan die student uittree met 'n B.A.(Mus.)-graad.
