Entry requirements and RPL
Matriculation Certificate of the matriculation Board or a certificate of exemption from the Matriculation Examination, issued by the Board;
or
Senior, School-leaving or University Entrance Certificate, issued one of the education departments in the Republic of South Africa, and endorsed to the effect that the candidate has been exempted from the Matriculation Examination;
or
Valid certificate of conditional exemption from the Matriculation Examination, issued by the Matriculation Board;
or
Valid certificate of exemption from the Matriculation Examination on the grounds of post-school qualifications (after Grade 12) issued by the Matriculation Board

The student will develop competence in the critical, as well as the specific outcomes below and needs to
- Demonstrate the abilities to contribute to the organisation and management of the small scale clothing enterprise to ensure a satisfactory end result for the consumer.
- Apply adequate numeracy skills to ensure accurate accounting within the enterprise.
- Have the awareness for and the ability to communicate the needs of employees and customers for a safe environment and be responsible for and have a positive attitude
- toward accident prevention.
- Demonstrate the ability to compare, analyse, evaluate and manage situations arising in the different activities in the enterprise.
- Focus on the construction of clothing, evaluation of retail clothing, care for textiles and satisfaction in wear.
- Anticipate the future and respond to the demands that these new developments and changes in the field of clothing manufacturing have to satisfy the needs of consumers.

INTEGRATED ASSESSMENT
Continuous and authentic assessment strategies will be utilised in the evaluation of learners. Learners will have multiple opportunities using any three of the following methods of assessment:
Regular tests, (written and or oral, examinations), practical teaching in the school environment, laboratory exercises and reports, portfolio's, written and oral presentations of mini projects or seminars in an individual as well as a group context, field trip reports, computer programmes outputs and or demonstrations, computer based solutions to information systems (software, web, e-commerce etc)
A detailed record an monitoring of learner progress will be maintained.
Progression and comparability
Articulation options
Students with Vista University qualifications or equivalent may get exemption for modules on appropriate NQF levels and specific outcomes. As this qualification is research orientated on exit level 7, an appropriate articulation level would be a Masters degree on exit level 8
