The Bachelor of Business Science in Information Systems and Technology will develop a learner's proficiency in the theory and practice of Information Systems and Technology through knowledge in:
- The complexity of employer-employee relationships within organisations.
- The relationship between the organisation and its environment (social, political. legal and economic).
- The functional disciplines within organisations and their contribution to organisational success.
- Develop an understanding of the need for effective communication systems in Industrial Relations.
- Develop an understanding of current and contemporary technical and legal development and how they impinge on the Industrial Relations function.
- Develop an understanding of the strategic role of Industrial Relations.
- Develop an awareness of ethical issues of Industrial Relations practice.
- Build a foundation for further studies in Industrial Relations.
- Develop skills to share knowledge and assist in the development of others.
Entry requirements and RPL
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
The institution conducts RPL in terms of the policy and guidelines of the institution to recognise other forms of formal, informal and non-formal learning and experience. In cases where learners do not comply with the formal admission requirements, the institution applies its RPL policy.

This qualification consists of the following compulsory and elective modules at National Qualifications Framework Level totalling 360 Credits.
Exit level outcomes

- Work effectively with others as team members by working together in teams in order to meet group objectives and managing and evaluating their work to meet the requirements of the group.

- Have a clear understanding of the practical implications of an ethical approach in Industrial Relations functions.

Associated assessment criteria
The following Associated Assessment Criteria will assess the Exit Level Outcomes in an integrated manner

Integrated Assessment
Integrated assessment appropriately incorporated to ensure that the purpose of the qualification is achieved.
Continuous assessment: assignments and projects comprise the year mark (worth 30% of the total mark) for the specific modules for Levels 5 and 6. Class presentations participation in class discussions and assignments for each module comprise the year mark (worth 50% for total mark) at Level 7.
Final assessment: An examination for each module worth 70% at Levels 5 and 6 and 50% at Level 7.
