The primary purpose of this qualification is to provide qualifying learners with applied competence in the analysis, interpretation and application of management principles in the fitness and health, coaching, teaching and retailing sectors of the Sport Industry. The learner should further be able to take strategic decisions in the context of a sport organisation, and to assess any internal or external decision impacting on Sport Management. The learner should also be able to reflect on his/her managerial decisions and applications to assess the effect thereof in the holistic context of Sport Management as practice.

The Honours programme is the first-year of Postgraduate study in the Statistical Sciences, which is understood to include both statistical modelling and inference and quantitative management science (operational research). The core of the programme provides the opportunity for intensive study in statistical theory and operational research. Also, the learner selects four further modules, involving either theoretical specialisations (e. g. econometrics) or studies in application to specific problem areas (e. g. finance).

The primary purpose of this qualification is to provide qualifying learners with applied competencies and practical skills in the organisation, analysis, interpretation and application of advanced strategic management principles. They should be able to reflect on strategic managerial decisions and be able to assess the effect thereof in the holistic context of management as a practice.

The Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Supply Chain Management will provide learners with an erudite as well as a good grasp of the advanced issues in supply chain management. This qualification will empower learners with the competencies (knowledge, insight, skills, values and attitudes) necessary to positively contribute to the management of a modern integrated supply chain.

The programme is designed to provide the opportunity for further intensive study in taxation. It will include training in concepts and research methods designed to equip the candidate with the skills necessary either for employment in public or private sector organisations concerned with the analysis of taxation and related issues. It will also prepare students for further study, locally or internationally, at Masters level in Taxation or a related subject area.
