Purpose and rationale

Purpose

A learner accredited with this qualification will be competent in analysing and monitoring design processes to meet market demands and adopt advanced production technology methods to ensure cost effectiveness in relation to cost and manufacturing.

Entry requirements and RPL

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Access may be granted, through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), to learners who do not meet the minimum entry requirements.

Entry Requirements

  • Higher Certificate in Fashion or Fashion Design, Level 5.
  • National Senior Certificate, Level 4 granting access to Diploma studies.
  • Senior Certificate, Level 4 with Matriculation exemption.
  • National Certificate Vocation, Level 4 with a relevant specialisation, granting access to Diploma studies.

  • Appropriate materials and specifications are selected and incorporated to achieve design objectives for a range of garments.
