Qualification rules

This qualification consists of the following compulsory and elective modules at National Qualifications Framework Level 6 totalling 360 Credits.

Exit level outcomes

  1. Interpret and utilise the available comprehensive health services within the community.
  2. Provide selective primary health care services to the community utilising a scientific approach.
  3. Interpret and identify with the role of the community health nurse in community development, based on scientifically determined community needs.
  4. Interpret and identify with the role of a community health nurse in an occupational health service.
  5. Render a family planning service to a community.

6 Interpret and identify with the role of the community nurse in a genetic service.

  1. Plan community-based rehabilitation programmes to promote the health of people with disabilities.
  2. Interpret and discuss the influence of cultural diversity on health and illness.
  3. Describe and evaluate the planning and management of a comprehensive health care service.

10.Demonstrate the ability to conduct epidemiological research.
