THE LEARNER WILL BE CAPABLE OF

  • Carrying out routine and more complex diagnostic testing in a haematology or immunology laboratory;
  • A critical understanding and application of the scientific principles of good laboratory practice and quality control;

Carrying out research projects under guidance of a professional medical researcher;

  • Writing research reports;
  • Communicating in, and understanding, medical scientific, laboratory and basic statistical terminology, in Haematology and Immunology;
  • Understanding basic medical research methods applying these methods.

THE LEARNER WILL BE ABLE TO DEMONSTRATE

  • Apply research methods;
  • Evaluate research findings;
  • Detect and interpret haematological abnormalities;
  • Demonstrate knowledge of diagnostic laboratory methods and good laboratory practice;
  • Carry out and interpret all the routine and some of the more complex diagnostic methods;
  • Write a basic scientific research report;
  • Communicate in Haematology and Immunohaematology;
  • Work in a team;
  • Carry out phlebotomy;
  • Understand and apply basic quality control measures;
