That the qualification will
- Enable learners to develop graduate level knowledge, discipline specific skills and applied competence in Commerce and Industry that provide opportunities for continued personal intellectual growth, gainful employment and making a rewarding contribution to society.
- Empower graduates to solve commercial problems in a general and focused way, to effectively manage and allocate resources, to communicate effectively, and to contribute to socio-economic transformation in a responsible and ethical manner.
- Provide South Africa with significant numbers of commerce graduates, particularly from disadvantaged communities, in order to ensure that the leadership base of innovative and knowledge-based economic and scholarly activity is strengthened and diversified.
Entry requirements and RPL
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
The institution conducts RPL in terms of the policy and guidelines of the institution to recognise other forms of formal, informal and non-formal learning and experience. In cases where learners do not comply with the formal admission requirements, the institution applies its RPL policy.

The minimum entry requirement for this qualification is
- National Senior Certificate, NQF Level 4, granting access to Bachelor studies.

Integrated Assessment
Across the various modules the following assessment methods are utilised to establish the ability of the student to demonstrate the requisite outcomes outlined above:
- Individual and group case studies, research projects and assignments, oral presentations, application of theoretical material to practical context through research reports, role plays, simulations, interviews, etc. in addition to examinations. This diversity of methods ensures that the exit level outcomes are assessed during the course.
