Bachelor of Arts Honours in History
The aim of this programme is to provide an opportunity to students to broaden their knowledge in History within the Faculty of Arts. This provides an opportunity to read extensively, to become acquainted with some of the classic texts in the History discipline, to become involved in a conversation with its most important thinkers and to take part in these debates with confidence. The solid basis that is acquired in this way prepares the student for postgraduate research. This provides an opportunity not only to broaden but also to deepen insight in the discipline as specified.

Purpose and rationale

Entry requirements and RPL
Students with a Bachelor of Arts degree or equivalent (NQF level 6) will be admitted into this programme. Prior learning and/or relevant experience will be recognised for entry into this programme where applicable and subject to Senate's discretion.
